The drilling rig count was stable around 65 for the first half of the year. Operators have shifted to incremental increases and decreases based on oil price, capital availability, and gas capture. The number of well completions has become variable again due to weather, gas capture, oil price and workforce.

Lower crude oil price, gas capture, workforce, and competition with the Permian and Anadarko shale oil plays for capital continue to limit drilling rig count.
